About this Guide

This “High-Density Liveability Guide” was developed based on findings from an Australian Research Council funded research project undertaken by Queensland University of Technology (QUT)  in partnership with Northshore Development Group, investigating the social, environmental and economic impacts of high-density living.

There was a need for an easy-to use guide to assist various stakeholder groups in assessing the liveability o high-density areas. In this guide, 9 key topics have been identified as important contributors to high-density liveability, based on research undertaken in inner-urban locations across Brisbane, Australia.
