Qualitative Interviews

Semi-structured one-on-one qualitative interviews were conducted with 24 participants from all six precincts, representing a mix of age, gender, income, marital status and dwelling type. Questions covered:

• likes and dislikes of current dwelling and neighbourhood;
• social contacts within the dwelling;
• opinions on sustainability;
• transport practices;
• design perceptions; and
• general opinions about high-density living.

Interviews allowed for an in-depth exploration of positive and negative impacts experienced by residents living within a high-density, sub-tropical environment.
